Our first Hawaiian Christmas has come and gone. Oddly, it didn't seem at all strange to spend the afternoon at the beach. We were happy to have great company and wonderful food. The weather has been cooler and overcast, so at least it feels like a different season in the chilly mid-70's! But having time to ride some waves on Christmas Day is definitely memorable, and a tradition we'll have to continue.

Came across this quote...nice to consider as the new year approaches:
"How many observe Christ's birthday! How few his precepts!
O! 'tis easier to keep holidays than commandments." --Benjamin Franklin
